How do we enable students to flourish in the future?

Symposium on the future of education

BAFA Annual Conference, 9 April, Westminster

I would like to draw your attention to a relevant and timely discussion on the role of education in shaping a better future for the profession and more prosperous society.

As part of this year’s Annual Conference of the British Accounting and Finance Association, we are organising a half-day symposium to engage experts and stakeholders from policy, business and academia. The event will take place in the afternoon of 9 April in Westminster Central Hall, London.

We will create a narrative by integrating three cascading themes:

  • The future of work: how might the social and technological trends shape the future of work and what would be the needs for talent in the business ecosystem that we aspire to create?

  • Capabilities for the future: what is the latest thinking from research and practice on what capabilities, qualities and skills students would need in the future?

  • Designing education: what are the principles for creating educational programmes and institutions that can offer holistic and lifelong learning?

I invite you to join the discussion. The event will feature round-table discussions with a panel of experts and a workshop for academics. Click here to register for the free workshop and let me know if you also would like to attend the round-table (limited spaces available).

In addition, I would like to invite you to send me your ideas, research or publications that you think should be part of the materials communicated for the session.

With best wishes,
Martin
