Information for better markets - Financial scandals: past, present and future

With the collapse of Carillion earlier this year, the theme for this year’s Information for Better Markets conference is particularly timely. The event will ask what we can learn about the role of financial reporting as part of the solution to the problem of financial scandals, as well as a contributing factor.

This conference will explore:

  • The history of financial scandals
  • How financial reporting regulations can reduce financial scandals
  • The role of traditional and emerging gatekeepers
  • Whether tax transparency is the solution to the modern day scandal of tax avoidance

There is no charge for attendance and the conference offers an opportunity to hear from leading academics followed by practitioner perspectives.
