Welcome to the first Academia & Education Community newsletter. You’ll find the latest ICAEW and Community news and views here, as well as information about upcoming events.
This edition has something of a ‘back to school’ theme, with advisory group members Angus Farr and Susan Smith taking slightly different approaches to the start of the new academic year. Susan also dives in to the Education and Scholarship track and Dr Rob Jones, another advisory board member, discusses the need for and development of ethics education. David Lyford-Smith, of ICAEW, talks about this year’s European Accounting Association congress in Paphos, Cyprus and the symposium that ICAEW hosted there, entitled ‘Blockchain and the future of accountancy’.
I’ve introduced the Researching Accountant Development Framework (RADF), in a brief on-demand webinar, as well as a short article, which you can find further down the page. This is also where you’ll find links to ICAEW’s Thought Leadership Programmes, the exciting news that you can now read some of ICAEW’s rarest books in digital form, and upcoming dates for your diary.
We hope that this newsletter is informative and entertaining for you, and that it can become a valuable part of the Academia & Education Community service going forward.
We’d love to hear your thoughts, so please send any feedback you have to firstname.lastname@example.org, and I hope to see you at some of the future events we’ve mentioned.
