I've been teaching two modules this semester - Audit - Contemporary issues in accounting
Each week I structure the students' learning around making links between the theory via the academic literature and the practice though the use of illustrative examples and case studies. This appears to have helped students engage with their learning as they feel better able to contextualise the issues.
I have found that often the cases in audit texts are dated or US based so have started to generate my own. Have you encountered this? If so how do you adapt to cover emergent issues e.g. technological change.
Is there a need to collaborate to build a toolbox of resources in these areas?
