Ageism - Mid Life MOT

While starting as a health pandemic, Covid 19 is bring lasting changes to how we live and work. Over the last few weeks many of us have been reflecting on what is important to us and what changes we might want or need to make to our working lives or even whether we will remain in paid work.

While some employers offer pre-retirement courses, many recommend starting to look at consider options much earlier than this – often around the ages of 45-50. Lord Filkin suggested the idea of a mid-life MOT which recommends that people look at three key areas: their health, their finances and their work as a way to take stock and plan for their futures in a holistic way for the short, medium and longer term.
