ICAEW's 9th insolvency conference - 26 June 2019

Join us for our 9th insolvency conference on Wednesday 26th June 2019.

We have a great programme for the day, which includes a detailed analysis of Carillion, just of the big name casualties and financial scandals in 2018, as well as topical issues around trust and transparency in the profession and, of course, Brexit.  And a soft skills session will give you practical techniques to help improve your personal productivity. 

The key sessions are:

  • Carillion - Officially the largest ever trading liquidation in the UK
    Hear an in depth analysis of the inside track from two of Carillion’s appointed Special Managers (Mike Jervis and David Kelly, Partners at PwC).

  • Certainty, trust and transparency
    Garry Wilson, Managing Partner at Endless LLP will discuss the importance of providing certainty in an ever increasing uncertain and unpredictable world while Sarah Albon, Inspector General and CEO of the Insolvency Service will focus on trust and transparency in the profession. RBS’s Head of Recoveries, Restructuring, Sean Pilcher and Head of Commercial and Corporate Restructuring, Martin Fent, will also provide an update on RBS’s work to restore trust.

  • Brexit
    Ian Williams, Director of RSM Restructuring and Advisory LLC, will consider the implications of Brexit on the restructuring and insolvency profession while the chair of the Institute of Economic Affairs’ Shadow Monetary Policy Committee, Professor Trevor Williams (University of Derby), will discuss the key economic issues arising from Brexit.
