ICAEW supported company voluntary arrangement research published

Published today, is a research report into company voluntary arrangements (CVAs). The report, Company Voluntary Arrangements: An effective tool for business rescue? has been produced following research undertaken by Professor Peter Walton and Dr Lezelle Jacobs of the University of Wolverhampton and Chris Umfreville of Aston University. This has been an R3 / ICAEW sponsored research project.

The report recommends a cap on CVA lengths, more time for companies to plan a CVA, clearer roles for directors and CVA supervisors, more engagement from public sector creditors, and the introduction of standard terms.

Also Professor Walton and Chris Umfreville will present their research and recommendations at ICAEW’s Restructuring and Insolvency conference which takes place at Chartered Accountants’ Hall on 26 June 2018.
