ICAEW working in partnership with the Community Foundation: The ICAEW Social Mobility Fund

As part of our work with the Community Foundation, the ICAEW Social Mobility Fund has recently been launched.

The £100,000 fund objective is to support projects which improve social mobility in the black communities: Providing support and inspiration to those with aspiration and ability but are disadvantaged.

Initiatives will include life skills development, an understanding of the opportunities afforded by further education including professional qualifications such as those provided by ICAEW and, crucially, peer group learning, feedback and inspiration to the following generations.

The funding will also be used to support stepping-stone projects that will work towards building confidence and raising aspirations.

Could you be a mentor?

We’re looking for ICAEW members, with a similar background to the individuals being supported, to volunteer as mentors as part of the programme. If you are interested in getting involved, please email matthew.downton@icaew.com.
