ICAEW, a world leader of the accounting and finance profession, has launched a network for students in the Middle East. The network will support budding chartered accountants through events and exam support.
The ICAEW has around 800 members and approximately 300 students in the Middle East. The student network aims to offer support to those studying to gain the qualification through technical seminars, practical examination advice and social networking to help them get the best possible start in their careers.
Commenting on the launch, Amanda Line, ICAEW Middle East Regional Director, said: “Studying for the ACA qualification is very demanding. It requires students to be completely focused and determined. But it is worth all the sweat and stress, as it is a great door opener to the world of finance and the beginning of an exciting career.”
Nauman Asif, who is in his final studies towards becoming an ACA (Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) and works for Bayt.com, will chair the Middle Eastern student network.
Speaking at the launch of the student network, Nauman said: “I have been involved with supporting ICAEW students over the past few years and I am delighted that the formation of the Middle East student network is now complete. I feel a great honour in becoming the inaugural Chairman and I am very much looking forward to working with my fellow students and ICAEW Middle East staff in making this a great success”.
