Autumn Budget 2017 webinar: IR35, stamp duty and incorporation all of interest to viewers

Rebecca Benneyworth presented this week’s Tax Faculty Budgets, Bills and Acts – a practical overview of recent changes, focusing on key points from Autumn Budget 2017 and adding practical tips with her own particular flair.

Feedback from the webinar is always interesting because it shows those areas covered which were of particular interest to members. It was clear from members’ comments that there is considerable concern about the proposal to extend the new rules on IR35, live for public sector contracts since April 2017, to private sector contracts. Rebecca speculated that we are witnessing the end of the personal service company.

Did you know that you couldn’t previously claim a fixed rate 45p mileage expense deduction for running a property business? Or that the VAT registration threshold is frozen until April 2020?
