HMRC is encountering IT issues and has updated its service availability pages as follows:
Individuals and Agents using the self assessment service
Due to technical difficulties individuals and agents are having problems using the Self Assessment Service and are receiving error codes 499 or 404.
Employer PAYE service
Problems filing returns for the 2016/2017 tax year
Due to technical difficulties it is not possible to file returns for 2016/17.
PAYE accounts not showing the latest position
HMRC is aware that some PAYE accounts are not showing the latest position.
These issues are being investigated and HMRC will update the service availability pages as and when each issue is resolved.
Has there been any explanation from HMRC as to what happened to prevent online for periods form 29 Sept to 2 Oct?
