NOTE. This item was updated 11 December 2017 to reflect new addition of cyber security as a discussion topic
The Tax Faculty will be presenting our final 2017 informal update on topical tax matters on Wednesday 13 December, 12:30-13:00.
Tax technical managers Anita Monteith and Jane Moore will be discussing the third Finance Bill of 2017, which – though thankfully shorter than some recent ones – still has 192 pages, 50 sections and 12 schedules. They will be joined by a special guest, Mark Taylor from our IT Faculty, who will be discussing cyber security and answering some of the questions ICAEW members have been sending in.
We will also look at current consultations on tax, including those on rent-a-room relief, MTD interest and penalties, and the new royalties withholding tax on overseas payments for the use of UK intellectual property.
As Christmas approaches we will also try to find some cheery news among the latest tax developments!
