The Government has just approved the Level 7 Trailblazer in Accountancy – a new apprenticeship standard that has been designed by employers, professional bodies and industry experts.
This means the ACA can now be studied as part of a centrally-funded programme: The ICAEW Accountancy Professional Apprenticeship, with £21,000 per apprenticeship available to employers.
This apprenticeship provides school leavers and graduates with another route into chartered accountancy, as well as professionals who are looking to progress.
ICAEW apprenticeships in accountancy are open to anyone of any age – from school leavers to professionals who are looking to progress. Graduates, non-graduates and existing employees are all eligible.
For more details see ICAEW’s Accountancy Trailblazers guidance.
Businesses providing apprenticeships do not have to be paying apprenticeship levy to obtain apprenticeship funding.
Government has published guidance on how apprenticeship funding works and, for employers with paybills greater than £3m, on paying the apprenticeship levy.
