Tax Club – failure to prevent facilitation of tax evasion

Tax Club meets again on 23 October 2017 for a presentation on the new provisions for failure to prevent facilitation of tax evasion

This next meeting of the Younger Members Tax Club, the ICAEW discussion group for young professionals interested in tax, will take place on Monday 23 October 2017.

Our guest speaker will be Dana Ward from Grant Thornton, who will speak about the Criminal Finances Act, which came into force on 30 September 2017. Dana’s talk will include

  • The Criminal Finances Act, what is it?
  • Who is in scope?
  • Potential penalties
  • Preventive procedures that can be applied.

Where and when

You will find us upstairs at our new venue The Globe, 83 Moorgate, London, EC2M 6SA.

Meetings begin at 18:30 (registration from 18:00) and finish around 20:00.

There is no entry fee. Free drinks (at the start of the evening) and finger food will be provided. There will be an opportunity to network after the talk.

How to join in

Tax Club is run by the Tax Faculty of the ICAEW and is open to all young (35 and under) professionals interested in tax. To give us an idea of numbers, it would be helpful if you could register your interest on our events page, however booking is not essential.
