Ian joined ICAEW as Head of Data Analytics and Tech in March 2022, looking at the role that analytics and technology solutions play in the profession, and supporting the ICAEW’s members in their exploration and development of knowledge around technology. Prior to this, Ian worked for over 10 years at PwC in Data Analytics, specialising in External Audit and Data Acquisition and developing robust data transformation processes. Ian is passionate about digital upskilling, and has previously trained as a secondary school teacher and a musician.

Bani manages and supports the Data Analytics and Excel Communities at ICAEW. She is also involved in delivering content for ICAEW members focusing on advancing analytics and technology within the finance profession and addressing key tech-related topics. Bani is ACA qualified and started her career at Deloitte in Audit and Assurance. During her time at Deloitte, she also worked in internal technology-enabled transformation for almost 3 years and has experience in managing and deploying specialised tools and technologies for auditors.

David Lyford-Tilley Technical Manager, Tech and the Profession

David began his accountancy career with BDO, working for their audit team, then transitioned to the Global Outsourcing division. David joined the Excel Community Advisory Committee as a volunteer member in 2013, and started blogging for the Excel Community shortly afterwards. He is the author of the long-running series, "Excel Tip of the Week".

Patrick O'Bierne
Patrick O'Beirne Managing Director of Systems Modelling Limited

Patrick's current focus is spreadsheet data analysis and auditing services as well as training and development. He is chair of the European Spreadsheet Risks Interest Group (EuSpRIG), previously a committee member of SoftTest Ireland and Fellow of the Irish Computer Society. He has advised two certification bodies on the content of a syllabus for a new certification in good spreadsheet practices. He is the author of the "Spreadsheet Check and Control" book and the developer of the XLTest spreadsheet auditing Excel addin.
