Tourism and the Industrial Strategy

On behalf of Tracey Crouch MP, Minister for Tourism, Heritage and Sport

I'm writing to you regarding the Government's proposal for a new Industrial Strategy, launched last month. The Green Paper sets out the Government's proposed approach and begins a 12 week consultation period.

I am clear, indeed the whole of Government is clear, that the tourism sector has a vital role to play in the economic and social success of the UK. The tourism industry and its ability to stimulate growth across the whole country is very much part of the Industrial Strategy. So I would urge everyone with an interest to respond to the consultation. We want to hear from every part of the country and sector. Please use this link to access the consultation: goo.gl/CzMulq

The Strategy is a huge opportunity for us to take forward the key issues we have been discussing as a sector, particularly skills, migration and the tourism workforce, and to explore new areas. In addition to feeding in views to the consultation I would encourage you to get in touch with my officials (lauren.schofield@culture.gov.uk) if there is anything you would like to discuss further.
