The power of TripAdvisor

Who would have imagined the pulling power of London's Supreme Court as a visitor attraction?
Well, since it opened its doors to the general public in 2009 nearly 350,000 visitors have made the trip to Parliament Square and, perhaps even more surprisingly, it now has an average rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 on TripAdvisor, placing it in the top quarter of visitor attractions in London. It even has a 'Certificate of Excellence' from TripAdvisor.

So, if you thought most people try to avoid 'going to court', think again!
Undoubtedly free admission has helped, not to mention the Supreme Court's location opposite the Houses of Parliament.

What is your favourite visitor attraction? Let's try and establish the Tourism & Hospitality community's views on the top UK attractions a) in London and b) outside London?
Let me start the ball rolling with a) The Florence Nightingale Museum (but I am a trustee!) and b) Blists Hill Victorian Town at Ironbridge, Coalbrookdale in Shropshire.

  • I would argue for Palace of Westminster and Westminster Abbey (which together form a UNESCO Heritage Site so its not cheating to have two!?!?); outside London there is too much choice but I will settle on St Kilda - which I visited for the first time in May!
