Brexit: changes to the taxation of Spanish holiday homes

Most articles you read about the tax consequences of Brexit concern VAT and customs duties. However, many individuals will also have a second home in an EU member state and will be wondering how Brexit might affect them.

That’s why an article by Alistair Spence Clarke in the August 2018 issue of TAXline concerning how Brexit will affect the taxation of Spanish holiday homes proved particularly popular with readers. The author has now reviewed and updated this article as at 16 October 2019.

The article was the cover article in the August 2018 issue of TAXline and is therefore freely available online. The rest of the content is exclusively available for Tax Faculty members and subscribers.
